Everybody has a backstory

I realize that everybody, including myself has a backstory. Initially we don’t always know everything about the people that we encounter in our lives. We learn about them the more that we interact with them. We don’t know the things that they’ve dealt with, growing up. We don’t always know what impacted their lives, either positively or negatively. We don’t know the things that they might still be holding onto or the things that they’ve decided to let go of that helps them thrive in life.

There are times when we’re on the receiving end of those backstories and we benefit greatly from them. Then, there are those times when we wish they (and their stories) had never crossed our paths. 😂 I believe that our backstories provide a glimpse into who we are today and why we think and act as we do. I also believe that sometimes we’re smart enough to use those backstories to help encourage ourselves to continue striving to be the best that we can be. Or, we’ll allow them to discourage us and keep us stuck in a story that never seems to have an ending.
